Shelf Help

A national service promoting well-being for young people launched on April 12th 2016 and is now available from all libraries and mobile libraries in Norfolk. Reading Well Gif

Shelf Help – Reading Well for Young People books have been chosen by young people and health experts to help with difficult feelings and experiences that can affect wellbeing.

The books are all very different – there is something for everybody, there is fiction and poetry, self help information and advice as well as personal stories about dealing with anxiety, depression or stress and experiences such as bullying.

A range of titles are available at each Norfolk library along with a leaflet – you can see the full list of Shelf Help titles online here on the library catalogue. Use the catalogue to reserve any book to be picked up from any library or mobile, including Shelf Help books. Reserving books to be delivered to the library or mobile library of your choice is free for anyone under 18 and a small charge applies for over 18’s. You just need your library card and a PIN number. See here for more information about joining the library

Most are also available as free eBooks meaning you can read them discretely on your own personal device (including smartphones, laptops, tablets and most eBook readers except Kindles).

For more information please ask at your local library or visit: http://www.readinghack.org.uk/readingwell
